Welcome to Rachael!
As 2020 rolls forward, so do we! We’ve recently hired a group of new faces and Rachael has just finished her first month with us…
Having had four weeks of settling in and getting used to what we do, we asked Rachael how her first month has been.
How have you found your first month at Contracts Advance?
It’s been a bit of a whirlwind! I’m new to public sector bidding so there’s a lot to learn. Sometimes it feels like I’ve been around for months, not weeks! I’m really enjoying learning a new industry and I’m picking up new things everyday when talking to CA customers.
Given the unprecedented circumstances we’re all finding ourselves in, we hope your first month has been good! Was it what you expected or …?
I’ve been lucky enough to start my onboarding at Contracts Advance in the office, so a few days a week I get to go in and meet colleagues face to face which has been nice. I’ve enjoyed having the flexibility to work from home and in the office when it suits me. I’ve come from the hospitality sector, one of the hardest hit industries in the pandemic – it’s really nice to join a company who have managed to do so well throughout this strange time. It’s an unsettling time for a lot of businesses and I’m pleased to be part of a business that is thriving.
What are the team like?
Everyone has been so welcoming, approachable and friendly. Tim & Sofia have been great in helping me get up to speed and putting up with my questions! Even though most of the team are working remotely for now, I’ve been able to speak to almost everyone in the company which has been nice – makes company meetings and zoom socials less awkward!
What would you like to achieve over the next month?
I’m looking to grow my knowledge of public sector bidding, to be able to put myself in the shoes of our customers and really start to understand how we can proactively help our customers to get the most out of their partnership with Contracts Advance.
Favourite moment so far?
Completing my first solo onboarding call and getting good feedback from the customer (and Sofia!).
